Singing Demo Reel
with Spectrogram Analysis
The voice is an incredibly versatile instrument because of our ability to bring out different overtones in our sound. A spectrogram analysis gives us a visual for which overtones are present and strongest.
As you look at the spectrogram for each singing style, you can keep an eye out for~
-How many lines you see (how many overtones are present)
-Which lines are darkest red (which overtones are strongest)
-Wiggly lines or straight lines (vibrato/trills or straight tone)
Whenever possible, the spectrogram reflects the solo vocal line isolated on its own without accompanying instruments.
